Eat Your Way to Healthy, Radiant Skin & Be Acne Free!

Most of us have seen the info-mercials on acne treatments by now.  Celebrities with clear, glowing skin swearing by the miracle cure for acne of one product or another.  Is it real, can you believe them?  Although many of the treatments may be beneficial for severe acne sufferers with possible medical causes these ads leave out a few things.

They don't talk about what else is being done to cure their acne.  One of the healthiest, most effective methods for curing acne is diet.  You are what you eat.  When you put healthy foods in the results show. 

If you're looking to get rid of acne the best place to begin is your diet.  Take a look at what you eat.  Are you eating junk foods?   Fatty, greasy, fried foods?  Sodas, preservative filled drinks?  Fast foods?  If you are then stop! 

Your skin is your body's largest organ and if reflects your overall health.  You must put in good healthy foods to look good and feel fabulous!  Once you get rid of junk food eating and soda drinking take the time to put in healthy foods.

You should drink a lot of water everyday!  A good formula is taking your body weight, divide by 2 and drink that many ounces of water a day.  Add a sprig of mint, or lemon or lime wedge once in a while for variety. 

You may not like to drink water but you'll get used to it and may actually come to find it's your favorite drink.  When you choose a drink other than water make it as all natural as possible.  Opt for juices that are all naturally sweetened with no added sugars.  Also, don't overindulge in alcohol.  It's bad for your body and will show on your skin.

Once you get what you're going to drink down next move on to foods.  Make it a goal to eat at least a total of 5 fruits and vegetables every day.  All berries (blueberries, strawberries, raspberries, etc.) are loaded with antioxidants and great for your skin.  Try to eat a variety of fruits. Grapefruit, grapes and oranges are also great for skin.   Make it a rainbow selection choosing from all of the colors. 

Choose lean meats like chicken and turkey.  Prepare with light sauces or grill with herbs and spices for a tasty and nutritious meal.  Cumin, rosemary and thyme add a burst of wonderful flavor to most meats.

If you are a junk food junky it will be a change but you'll adjust and yes, even come to like your new eating habits.  And you'll love how it looks on you! You'll not only be achieving glowing, radiant and acne free skin you'll be getting healthy from the inside out. 

When you use your diet to change your skin you won't be wasting money on expensive, chemical filled acne treatments that may or may not work.  You'll be changing your life and health and it will show! 

Also utilize the antiseptic properties of tea tree oil to treat breakouts as they occur.  Just a dab on the spot once or twice a day.
